First released in June of 1992, the Nissan Altima was a replacement for the highly unpopular Nissan Stanza. However, it has grown throughout the years as from a compact car to a mid-size luxury sedan. Since 1992, the Nissan Altima has won several awards including 2002’s award for North American Car of the Year and 2010’s National Highway Traffic Safety Award.
The Altima has had several different engine versions ranging from the original 1992 150hp engine with a four speed automatic to the new 2013 3.5L V6 with 270hp. Additionally, the Altima has two main body styles, the sedan which is the base body style, and the coupe which was a sportier version available in the later years. Because of its popularity and its long life, the Altima has several different models including, the 2.5, the 2.5s, 2.5 SE, the 3.5 SR as well as the new hybrid.

I bought this car used in 2010 it had 32000 miles on it. The thing that blew me away was that you can coast in 4th gear at 5 mph. Anyone who drives a manual knows that sounds impossible. Somehow The engineers at Nissan figured out that stop and go traffic is made more annoying when you drive a manual. So this transmissions helps with the commute. on to the car. I was shopping for a bmw recently and test drove a 330 with performance package Right after the test drove I hopped in my Nissan and pushed the envelope a bit. This Nissan really performs. I cant say enough. If you can find one of these with the manual test drive it you wont regret it

Hey everyone I'm an owner of a 6 speed 2007 Nissan Altima that is on its second transmission. I noticed the problem when I couldn't shift out of 2nd gear. I called the dealer and they give you the runaround as if I never drove a manual before. So I let it go for a week until I said enough is enough. I called and told them I had a wedding to go to in West Virginia and I need my car looked at and I'm not leaving until I know whats wrong. 4 hours of waiting and they say, It looks like you need a new transmission. My stomach dropped. Well it was covered so they had to eat that 4500 dollar bill, but I noticed again that shifting into second is harder then ever. So it looks like it's going back.

I just bought this car, 2007 Nissan Altima, SE, 3.5, manual with all the bells and whistles. It is very fun to drive, looks sporty, and has a lot of nice amenities. However just 2 months after purchasing it, I've already been to the shop over 10 times! It's just little things like the TPMS sensors, shifter cable, door seal leaking, wipers mal-adjusted, rotor squeaking(and not due to brakes), and the list goes on. I am very concerned about how this will affect my pocket book when warranty runs out. My advice, spend the same money and get a very nice Honda or Toyota..wish me luck as i'm about to hit the end of the 3yr, 36,000 warranty.

build quality. If it wasn't for my warranty, i would have already dropped over 2,000 on repairs alone, and it's only 3 years old(32,000 miles). very poor quality control here. gas mileage could be better, but it does boast 270 horse.

I love my 2007 Nissan Altima SE with the 6-speed transmission. It handles like a dream and can accelerate as quick as anything that I have driven. I am getting close to 27 MPG even though it is only supposed to get 19/27. I love the fact that I could get a reliable mid size sedan with a 6 cylinder engine and a manual transmission. It truly is a sports sedan that Honda and Toyota don't offer; a 6 cylinder with a manual transmission.

The Nissan Altima is the middle tier model, placed between the Sentra and Maxima. This midsize chassis is still being sold today. Early models were equipped with inline 4 cylinder engines and later models had an optional V6 available. In 2005, the Altima SE-R was released, sporting a 260 horsepower engine with an estimated zero to sixty time of 6 seconds. A redesign in 2006 led to the creation of the Altima Coupe (AC), released in 2008. The SE-R package was not carried over, but the same V6 was still available and made a potent 270 horsepower. The Altima Coupe is a favorite of tuners and customizers here on NICO. In 2013, the Altima lost the coupe option and only 4 doors are available. The new model is the lightest midsize car in its class. Styling is similar to the latest model Maxima and is available with an inline 4 cylinder or V6 engine coupled to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Love the car except for one thing they cant fix

I saved for 2 years to buy my 2007 Altima. After driving it a few months, about 150 miles on the car, I felt a rubbing coming up in the steering wheel when i make right turns. The car has been in the shop four times to find the problem only to not find the problem. Could not duplicate customer complaint. I now have 26500 miles and it still makes the rubbing noise and is getting worse, I can only hope it breaks so they will fix it. Otherwise. i love this car. Not getting over 27.5 miles per gallon.

im a new buyer in japanese cars i decided to go for this one i looked at the new honda accord but i didn t like the style to me i think they went a step way back on tht model but any who i had no problemos with this nissan other than a copuple of recalls wicht they took care of and maintnance and tht s it i would recomend this car to any one tht 4 banger got quite a power and inside the lay out on instruments are easy to reach plus i got no key just push the button and whala very cool feature, so good job nissan with this altima

Talking about sport sedan Nissan Altima SE is the best super nice from outside and inside 100%. Talk about powers 270 horsepowers plus I add cold air intake system now total 300 horsepowers. No one can compare Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. Plan buy your next car go for Nissan you get all the powers and good gas mileages. Right on the money save.

This is an awesome automobile! I researched sedans for 2 months before choosing the 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S. I found it to be the best car for the money. It's quiet, smooth, powerful for a 4 cylinder. It gets great gas mileage for the size. I get 32 mpg on the road at 75 mph. The front reading lights do kind of blind the driver. Nissan should make should have made ABS standard. Other than that, as perfect as possible.

MY WIFE AND I WERE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER CAR, TO REPLACE AN OLDER MODEL, WHEN SHE ASKED ME TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE COMMERCIAL FOR THE NEXT GENERATION ALTIMA. WE WERE SOLD ON THE CAR WITH A QUICK TEST DRIVE TO THE EXPRESSWAY. WE WERE TEST DRIVING THE 3.5 SE, WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE A BMW M3 CAME UP FAST AND CHANGED LANES QUICKLY. THE SALES REP TOLD ME TO GO GET HIM, WITH IN SECONDS I HAD NOT ONLY CAUGHT UP WITH HIM, BUT PASSED HIM. NOT PROMOTING SPEED BUT THE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE BMW M3 COULD NOT PASS ME ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT OVER 120 MPH. AFTER EXITING THE EXPRESSWAY THE GUY PULLED UP AT THE LIGHT AND STATED THATS AN ALTIMA, I THOUGHT IT WAS A MAXIMA.

This is my second Altima, I love this one even more than my first one. I bought the 2.5 with the SL package, had to have the sun roof and the wheels. The gas mileage is exactly what was advertised, GREAT! And this is a roomier sedan than my '01, but with better gas mileage. We are an all Nissan family now.

I like the car a ride-around, but I will soon be looking for another ride. It still responds well to acceleration and handling, but things are really starting get old on her - lots of clanking. Additionally, I'm facing several expenses on electrical stuff, hoses, and lines. Gas mileage is not so good compared to some of the cars on the road now.
